OF

LOURDES PARISH

Picture
 Welcome to our parish website!

Our Lady of Lourdes parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Cardonald, on the South Side of Glasgow. We exist to preach the Word of God and celebrate the Sacraments recalling the words of the patron of our city, St. Mungo: "Let Glasgow flourish by the preaching of thy Word and the praising of thy name!"

Parish Priest: Very Rev. David J Canon Wallace
In residence: Rev. Neil Donnachie (retired)
Welcome to our parish website! Sadly, we have entered into lockdown once more. Mass will be live streamed daily to our Facebook page (click on the icon above to access this). We will offer reflections, prayers and meditations during this time also on weekdays. Please check out our 'Mass times and services' page for a weekly run down of what's on offer. Although we can't gather physically at this time, we continue to be Church together until it is deemed safe for us once more to pray in our church building! Stay safe and keep faith!

Archbishop Philip Tartaglia RIP

Picture
With great sadness, we learned of the death of our Archbishop on the Feast of St. Kentigern, patron of our Church and City. The Archbishop’s Funeral Rites will be celebrated in the Cathedral, subject to the restrictions that are in place. Only 20 of the Archbishop’s closest family and friends will be able to attend and people are asked to comply with the current advice to stay at home and to participate spiritually using the live-streams that will be available and are noted below.
Please bring this information to the attention of your people and use whatever means available to ensure that it is widely shared. You might consider offering your scheduled parish Mass on Thursday for the repose of the Archbishop’s soul.

Vigil and Reception of Remains of Archbishop Tartaglia on Wednesday 20th January at 6.30 pm accessible by using this link: https://youtu.be/idlkb2sNUcc

Funeral Mass on Thursday 21st January at 12 noon, accessible by using this link: https://youtu.be/tS6rtYC0DhM

Please continue your prayers for the repose of the Archbishop’s soul and for the comfort of his family.
Donations to our parish:
Conscious that this is a difficult time and many people will struggle financially over the coming months, we haven't mentioned money. However, in response to a number of people asking how to go about making donations for the upkeep of the parish, please email Fr. David (ollourdes@rcag.org.uk) for a form to set up a direct debit or use the account details to make a donation. Please only use this IF you can afford to. Thank you.

If you would like to make an online contribution to the parish, then you can do that via this link.
