ROME 2025 WITH RCAG YOUTH
Aged 18 to 30? Interested in a trip to Rome next year?
Pope Francis has invited young people from across the world to join him in Rome next summer for the Jubilee of the Youth, July 28 - August 3, 2025.
The Archdiocesan Youth Team are planning to take a group of 18 to 30 year olds on this pilgrimage.
In previous years, for WYD, the Youth Team has booked their own accommodation instead of using the one offered.
As this pilgrimage is for over 18s, they are going with the simple option that the organisers are offering (this is likely to be gym halls with sleeping bags).
As a pilgrim with the Team, you will register and pay the cost of the pilgrim pack (around £250) and your travel (anticipated around £550).
If you would like to arrange your own travel and meet the youth team there, you're welcome to!
If you want to join them but fancy booking yourself an Airbnb, you're welcome to!
If you want to do the full Archdiocesan Youth Pilgrimage, travelling and staying with them, you're welcome to!

PREVIOUS Parish Pilgrimages
Assisi & Rome 14th-21st October 2019
In conjunction with Alba Tours, 46 pilgrims took part in our parish pilgrimage to Assisi & Rome. Our journey was documented on our social media pages in order to share with the parish community our closeness in prayer and give a flavour of our experiences.

Pilgrimage is a journey made in faith to appreciate and deepen the faith we have. Setting off on Sunday 14th October from Cardonald, we sadly lost faith in our airline with an almost six hour delay on our flight from Glasgow to Madrid. Spirits, however, remained high as our excitement to reach Salamanca (a further 3 hour bus journey from Madrid) was palpable. A group of 19, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Scots College and the hospitality of the College staff: Fr. Tom Kilbride (Rector) and Fr. Stuart Chalmers (Spiritual Director). The opportunity to visit the elegant town of Salamanca and appreciate Spanish culture was particularly special, as were our trips to Avila and Alba de Tormes to venerate St. Teresa of Jesus and to Segovia where we celebrated Mass at the tomb of St. John of the Cross. Our prayers were very much with our parish community and those who had asked to be remembered. A few photographs below.

Of course, in recent memory, many parishioners took part in a pilgrimage to Lourdes in celebration of the parish’s centenary celebrations (2006). Perhaps these might jog a few memories?
