Current rotas for Readers and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Parishes changed over to the new lectionary on Sunday, 1st December 2024.
The Lectionary, which is the book that contains the Scripture readings for Mass and the Sacraments, has changed as part of the continuing process of revising liturgical translations.
The new Lectionary uses the English Standard Version – Catholic Edition of the Bible. The changes are intended to make the biblical translations more faithful to the original languages, biblical scholarship, and to provide a text for use in liturgical setting that is more proclaimable and, where appropriate, more inclusive.
This means that the style, tone and rhythm of the readings at Mass will be unfamiliar for some time. However, this ESV translation will also, hopefully, bring new insights and deepen our love for Holy Scripture.
You can find out more about the new lectionary by watching this talk by Fr Paul Denney :

We have hard back copies of the new Sunday Missal priced at £20 available in the Ogilvie Room on Sundays after Mass.
