NEW LECTIONARY
The Lectionary, which is the book that contains the Scripture readings for Mass and the Sacraments, is changing as part of the continuing process of revising liturgical translations.
The new Lectionary will use the English Standard Version – Catholic Edition of the Bible. The changes are intended to make the biblical translations more faithful to the original languages, biblical scholarship, and to provide a text for use in liturgical setting that is more proclaimable and, where appropriate, more inclusive.
This means that the style, tone and rhythm of the readings at Mass will be unfamiliar for some time. However, this ESV translation will also, hopefully, bring new insights and deepen our love for Holy Scripture.
You can find out more about the new lectionary by watching this talk by Fr Paul Denney :

Parishes will be changing over to the new lectionary on 1st December 2024.

PARISH LIBRARY
A parish library has been created in one of the confessional areas.
The library space is intended for parishioners who have an interest in developing spiritual and theological awareness.
You are welcome to BORROW books from the library, but these must be returned. To borrow a book, please sign it out and
When finished, please return it to the relevant place.
An opportunity to deepen your faith and enhance what you already have an awareness of, but perhaps want to know more!

HYMN BOOKS
We have purchased new hymn books - please collect from the bookcases at the front of the church and return here at the end of each Mass.
Also on the pews, we have reintroduced the Order of Mass cards. These can be helpful to use, especially by the pupils at school Masses.
