OUR LADY
OF
LOURDES PARISH
|
Welcome to our parish website!
Our Lady of Lourdes parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Cardonald, on the South Side of Glasgow. We exist to preach the Word of God and celebrate the Sacraments recalling the words of the patron of our city, St. Mungo: "Let Glasgow flourish by the preaching of thy Word and the praising of thy name!" Parish Priest: Rev. Joseph Mackle Assistant Parish Priest: Fr William Omatu Deacon: Rev. Thomas Thompson |
Works Update
Drainage Repairs Began Last Monday - As regards tree roots having damaged parts of the underground drainage system in our grounds, resulting in collapsed pipes in two separate locations, we have submitted a claim through our building insurance policy. Recent generous donations will help cover the policy excess, plus essential safety improvements to the church porch side steps. Thank you for the kind and generous donations handed in last week.
The two conifers at the grotto have grown excessively large and are now posing a threat to the structure’s stonework. Their close proximity to the hall also presents a risk of damage should either tree be blown over during high winds. For these reasons, the trees will be felled and replaced with cuttings taken from the existing conifers, ensuring their continued presence in a form more appropriate to the setting.
Front Hall Update - Work is moving along brilliantly. These important improvements are helping to safeguard the health, safety, and future of everyone who uses the hall, and we are very grateful for your patience while the work continues.
Your support means a great deal to us. If you are able to make a donation, no matter the size, it would be very much appreciated.
You can make a donation using the following bank details:
The Bank of Scotland, Arch of Glw OL Lourde No 2. Sort code: 801426. Account number: 00234566.

Church Closed 8th, 9th & 10th June
Scaffolding will be going up inside the church from 8th to 10th June so we can carry out essential work to make a ceiling tile safe. Due to these necessary works, there will be no Mass in the church on those three days and the church will be closed to the public. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Daily Mass is celebrated at 10:00am in Nazareth House daily.
